The Jet Group team out of Cedar Park, TX came to LLB Designs looking for new business cards. The company includes two divisions, Jet Group Realty and Jet Group Management, each with their own logo. When tackling the business cards it was important to give each a unique look while maintaining the overall company’s brand. Mixing up the colors and imagery worked like a charm. The management group’s cards featured layers of buildings and housing with a striking blue background. The realty team got crisp white cards highlighting their names and contact information. Both are appropriate for the target audience and easily distinguished from each other, while still coordinating well and re-enforcing the Jet Group name.

This lucky little boy was not only adopted by two fantastic, not to mention ecstatic, parents, he also now gets to call One World Farm his new home. While most kids have to beg for a pet dog little Kai will have an entire menagerie of dogs, donkeys, sheep, chickens and goats at his disposal. Lucky indeed! We at LLB Designs were thrilled to be asked to design birth and adoption announcements for the little guy, and in the end we settled on a simple A2 card. The classic colors and elegant layout are balanced out by the fun (but not too cutesy) animals that add a touch of subtle and unique personalization. Congratulations to the Mitschke family!

LLB Designs recently had the privilege of creating a little tri-fold invite as a pro-bono project for the Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS), a St. Louis, MO based non-profit. This worthy group supports individuals and families with issues ranging from serious emotional difficulties to common challenges of everyday living. Well done!

JF&CS hosted a fundraiser to, well, raise-funds, and like many a fundraising event this one was put together on a shoe-string budget. The invitation was a self-mailer with a perforated reply card postcard to minimize both printing and postage costs. A two-color job with a lot of information to convey, there were plenty of logistics to to incorporate into the design. The final result was a fresh, springy green and white piece with an attractive but not too formal pattern, crisp typography and subtle design elements. A classy first impression to a very worthwhile event.

Ever scratched your head and wondered what the difference is between RGB and CMYK? And what are those Pantone things, anyway? We were all geared up to tell you, but it turns out the fine folks over at Designer Today have this one covered! This concise but informative little article breaks it all down with great high-level definitions and explanations:

http://www.designertoday.com/Articles/5946/Color.Models.in.Graphic.Design.aspx

As a basic rule of thumb, opt for RGB with online applications and go the CMYK and/or Pantone route for projects that will be professionally printed. But of course, every job is different so be sure to ask your printer or designer if you find yourself in a color conundrum. After all, we can’t always be expected to color between the lines…

When it came time to celebrate this fabulous couple’s pending nuptials, the hostesses bumped it up a notch and planned an elegant couples shower featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. But because this gang shies away from anything TOO formal or stuffy, more whimsical party favors, cake and that night’s March Madness game on big screen TVs kept things fun and relaxed. The miniature gumball machine favors (which really work!) were purchased from My Wedding Favors, and the invitations and coordinating favor tags were designed by LLB Designs. Classy! But not too classy…
